Christmas is my very favorite season to decorate for! The smells of cinnamon and pine, the lights glimmering in the dark, the magic of the holiday season… It’s just all so wonderful.
Every year we make new ornaments, and add them to our collection. My girls favorite part of decorating the tree, is pulling out the ornaments bin and picking which ones they made and guessing how old they were (secretly it’s my favorite part too).
Start a new tradition this year and make your own ornaments and Christmas decorations. The kids will love it! But before I had kid of my own, my friends and I would have an ornament exchange. The only rule was that you were not allowed to purchase, it had to be homemade.
If you love pony bead crafts as much as we do, check out Melted Pony Bead Suncatchers.
So let’s make some pony bead and pipe cleaner snowflakes for this year!
SUPPLIES
DIRECTIONS
1. Grab 3 pipe cleaners and fold them in half.
2. Take the bent ends and bend them together to hold.
3. Start threading on the beads until the size suits you. I used between 6-10.
4. Once all the beads are on, you can just bend the ends to hold, or you can make a circle like I did using a pen and tuck the end in the last bead.
And you have homemade snowflakes! We actually are not putting these on our tree this year, we hung them in our kitchen window. The glitter and translucent beads catch the sunlight and look super cute!
