Let’s get to it!

SUPPLIES

  • Socks
  • Rice
  • String
  • Noses
  • Whiskers
  • Ribbon
long grain rice, purple pink and blue socks

SOCKS: I used ankle socks because my daughter had them. I purchased a pack and they were too large for her. You can use taller socks and your bunny and his ears will be larger. The Dollar Tree, Bullseyes Playground at Target or Walmart’s Dollar Shop all have seasonal socks for around $1.

STRING: You have many options to tie up the bunnies. Rubber bands, yarn, string, twine…

Nose: Pom poms are perfect. You could also use marker and draw it on. Or a button or bead.

WHISKERS: Again, use what you have. I’m using wire. Other options are floral wire, yarn, pipe cleaners, wired jute, or twine.

DIRECTIONS

1. Pour some rice into a cup. I used about 1 1/2 cups for the larger bunnies.

2. Take a cup or a jar and put the sock inside and place the opening of the sock around the cup. Pretend the sock is a garbage bag and the cup is the garbage bin, haha!

3. Pour the rice into the open sock. You may have to shake the cup to settle the rice for more room.

4. Once the rice is poured, remove the sock from the cup and gently shake the rice to settle. Grab what supply you are using to tie the bunny, and tie up the tip top.

5. Decide how big you want the body and tie up the neck.

6. Cut off the top elastic strip.

7. Cut the remaining sock in half to make the ears.

8. You can cut the ears to shape, or hot glue the pieces into ears.

9. This is my nose and whiskers. I just cut a small piece of wire and bent it in half. And a mini pink pom pom.

10. Hot glue the whiskers on, then hot glue the nose on.
